I'm ready!

Take me to New Zealand already! I've enjoyed talking about the expedition with friends and family, I've received so many tips and and noted so many cool places to go - huge mahalo to everyone who has provided me with guidance from their experiences- but I'm ready to see these cool places already!!

I am currently in Hawai'i en route to NZ. Leaving Minnesota was tuff... I don't think I'd call myself a home body, but more of a person lover- I hate leaving those whom I love and care about. I'll miss so many of you in MN! Least to say those plane seats have tear stains on them and the guy sitting beside me couldn't decide if he should comfort me or beware of the crazy lady silently bawling her eye out next to him. Before Hawai'i I was in Seattle for the day with family and it felt like that was really where the journey began.

In Seattle I was blessed to be bestowed a few gifts to make my travels more enjoyable and documentable (made up words are so fun!)! My lovely Aunts lent me their "dusty" Canon camera (Rebel XSi) so this blog will be updated with some photos that are better quality than my iPhone and GoPro- YAY! And I also got a new gps watch at REI so that I can track mileage and training- the best gift to get any runner!

Here's a shot of the sunset behind the Space Needle because I feel like my journey really began with this wonderful day in the wonderful city of Seattle. A few days in Hawai'i (pics included because I'm getting better with my GoPro) and I'm off to Auckland for two weeks of traveling down through the North and South Island to Dunedin - my home for the next four months!
