They were'nt joking when NZ's music is a wee bit behind... at the pub tonight a playlist full of Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera was rockin the place! This is my kind of place :)
Lake Taupo has been good, ohh so good to me!! So has my lovely family friends- who I now consider mum and dad (UK style!)! They've taken me and my mom (yay for mother-daughter adventures!) to numerous places so that we can enjoy our adventures: (huge mahalo!)
Parasailing - dream of mine crossed off my bucket list! To boot, my scipper happened to be from HAWAI'I!!! He gave me a kamaaina discount ;) Mahalo Nui I said!
Underground white water rafting with glowworms in the caves of Waitomo. Perfect for adventurous souls,. They don't tell you you'll be jumping backwards off waterfalls into a dark cave (hopefully) filled with (enough) water, until you're well into the caves and can't turn around - sweet! (No pictures of this yet... but you can look up the spectacuar creatures!)
Sail boat trip to see Maori carvings and swim in the most gorgeous, crystal clear, deep, safe, comfortably naturally warm water I have ever been in! (same water where the parasailing scipper decided to dump me in the water!)
Hot spring waterfalls - most amazing piece of nature! I will never forget this free, national park we found! Already looking forward to coming back.
Huka falls - proves how powerful and beautiful nature can be! (Pics to come later!)
Agredome in Rotorua- milked a cow!! (On stage!) And saw sheep shearing! Also went to a Maori village, saw gysers, hot springs, bubbling mud, and a Maori preformance. Wonderful sights in this part of the country.
These all sound so wonderful, but no words (that I have found yet) fully describe the amazing feelings of adventure, fright, excitement, awe and amazement. From hundreds of meters below ground in the glow worm caves to 800 meters high in the sky... I'll let the pictures (and captions) do some explaining. EnJOY!
